Can I just say that I love my PCP

He is one of the nicest physicians that I've ever dealt with and he is THOROUGH!  He is the only PCP that I've ever had that even checks between my toes.

Today I had a follow up with him as he put me on simvistation for my cholestyrol back in July and he wanted to see how numbers were doing and make sure that there were no adverse effects.

So I did blood work and my cholestyrol is actually higher.  I also have to admit that I'm not the best at taking medication.

I waited about a 1/2 hour in the waiting room.  Love my PCP, but he is also notoriously late.  He seems to spend the time he needs to spend with his patients though and always apologizes so I'm cool with it.  I just always make sure that I have a book with me.

When he finally came in the room, he was all smiles and pleasant as usual.

We discussed my weight and my upcoming surgery.  He agrees that I am going in the right direction and is happy that I'm doing something.

We discussed my iron and my cholestyrol as both numbers are not stellar.  I admitted that I'm not taking my pills the way I should.  He could tell that I was feeling guilty about it and told me to "erase all guilt".  He understands life is stressful and things don't always happen.

He does want me to focus on the iron especially as it's needed in my body.  The cholestyrol he wants me to take, but is hoping that surgery/weight loss will start taking care of that.

I love leaving a doctor's office feeling happy.  It's such an unusual thing for me.

About nancykerins

I am a 38 year full time working mother of one doing my best to get healthy. I had lapband surgery in November of 2010 and then had a revision to the vertical gastric sleeve in February 2012. The purpose of this blog is a therapeutic tool for me to work out my feelings and write about what is going on during this experience. If I can help others through this blog, that is just a bonus.
