So I’m going on CPAP…

Just met with Dr. H about my sleep study.

So after about an hour of talking and an exam,  I find out that I have mild sleep apnea, mild leg movements and mild insomnia.

The sleep apnea doesn’t surprise me.  I’m actually surprised it was mild.

The leg movements didn’t surprise me either since I have been quite a sleep mover since starting celexa last October.

Insomnia though?  I don’t think so.  I rarely have trouble sleeping.  Caffeine doesn’t even keep me up.

I did have trouble sleeping that night though.  I can’t even remember having a worse night of sleep or being that tired in a long time.  My sleep at the sleep study was not good quality.

Since my sleep apnea is borderline for CPAP and surgery/pain killers can make sleep apnea worse, Dr. H wants me to go on CPAP at least temporarily.  I don’t have a problem going on the CPAP and was fully prepared to do so.

What I didn’t realize is in order to go on CPAP, I have to do another sleep study!!!  That part SUCKS!  SUCKS HARD!  I really do not want to do it.

Plus he wants me to do the sleep study as soon as possible.

At least my husband is not going to be traveling in September so it will be easier to do the study this time.

It is what it is though.  I’m trying to be really accepting of anything that comes down the line.  Anything that I need to do to become healthy.

About nancykerins

I am a 38 year full time working mother of one doing my best to get healthy. I had lapband surgery in November of 2010 and then had a revision to the vertical gastric sleeve in February 2012. The purpose of this blog is a therapeutic tool for me to work out my feelings and write about what is going on during this experience. If I can help others through this blog, that is just a bonus.
